Coming from a crafty family environment, Hugo has always been motivated by a hands-on approach, be it fixing bikes or immersing himself in random woodworking projects.
During teenage years, he started cooking which fulfill his eager for cutting things. When he realized he would rather be cooking than doing anything else, prompting him to redirect his career towards the professional kitchen.
Drawing from his early experiences in woodworking and sharpening, Hugo's transition into the culinary world was seamless. The acquired skills accelerated his development as a cook, earning him unique roles, including the funniest tasks of cutting the finest ingredients, as well the first jobs as knife sharpener.
He was able to work with literally the best chefs in Brazil and it allowed him to cook with the finest food available, completely necessary to understand how big is the impact the knife has on the produce.
With the perfect excuse to invest in the top-notch knives available, he could recognize that the most important aspect to a knife
is not just how sharp it can get, but for how long it can stay the sharpest.
